Gonzales vows to fix Justice's image

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says he's staying at the Justice Department to try to repair its broken image, telling Congress in a statement released Monday he's troubled that politics may have played a part in hiring career federal prosecutors.

As if someone else did bad things to hurt the Department's image.

Bush "commute" Libby's prison term

It's funny that he didn't pardon him, but commute the prison term. Honestly I didn't know President can do that until today.

President Bush spared former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby from a 2 1/2-year prison term in the CIA leak investigation Monday, delivering a political thunderbolt in the highly charged criminal case. Bush said the sentence was just too harsh.

I guess it will be a good idea to have the President reviewing all the sentences to see whether any of them is too harsh? Really funny concept.

Obama the new holder of Democratic fund raiser

Sen. Barack Obama reported Sunday raising at least $32.5 million for his presidential campaign from April through June, a record for a Democratic candidate.

I'm not sure how much it means, especially after the melt down of Howard Dean. It's always good to know Democrats outraise Republicans.
